This morning was one of those mornings where you start to review your life decisions that lead you to here… it was cold and wet and the kind of day where, if I was at home, I’d go “yeah, nah” and hang the keys back up. But on tour you have to harden up and get on the bike because you have to get from here to there.
First stop out of Mo I Rana was a historical motorcycle museum. It wasn’t very big but it was enjoyable (that’s what she said…)
From there, we continued north in more rain, reaching the arctic circle – 66º33’N! North of here, there is at least one summer day where the sun doesn’t set and one winter day where the sun doesn’t rise. It’s my first time this far north so woohoo!
The weather finally started to clear, and we headed on to Bodø where we boarded yet another ferry. This one took about 3 hours to sail us out to the Lofoten Islands and our home for 2 nights in Sørvågen.
On the short ride over to the hotel and walking around a little bit, it’s no exaggeration to say that this place is just stunning. I mean picture-postcard, straight from a fairytale beautiful.
Fingers crossed, this is where I might cross paths with my eldest son and his partner as they are also travelling in this part of the world. 🤞🏻
